SHANNOCK FALLS, Richmond and Charlestown

 Entered into a partnership with Women’s Development Corporation to build 43 LMI units on two separate properties. One located in Charlestown and one located in Richmond. Construction is now in progress. Full rent up anticipated for 2020, with the first completed buildings expected to be available July 2019.

Property acquired on May 30, 2013. This is a three family structure located in the center of the village. This home listed in the National Register and will undergo renovations in 2019. Anticipated completion in December, and units available for occupancy January 2020

CHURCHWOODS, Post Rd., Charlestown

24 unit elderly rental development.  The Rhode Island Office of Community Development awarded $4.4 million in Sandy Superstorm funds to WCCDC to construct ChurchWoods at 4130 Old Post Rd, Charlestown Ri. Additionally the State of RI awarded $1.9 million and the Town of Charlestown provided a bond of $375,000. for the construction project and completion of 24 renta housing units for seniors 55+ and over on the site formerly owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island and located adjacent to the Church of the Holy Spirit. Project totalled $6.3M,  began August, 2016 and completed December 2017 and is now 100% occupied.

Obtained SHARP approval for the acquisition of this single family house and received approval by Town zoning to be converted to an affordable duplex rental.  WCCDC completed renovation of this rental with HOME funds in March 2017. It is now home to two low income families.
